Michelin-starred restaurants near Moraira: where to find a star

Michelin-starred restaurants near Moraira

Moraira itself has no restaurant with a Michelin star. To visit one you drive out of the village, but not far: for its size the Marina Alta is exceptionally well served, and the nearest address is ten minutes away.

What the 2026 guide lists

Nine addresses in the Marina Alta hold a star. The closest to Moraira is Casa Bernardi in Benissa, one star, a ten-minute drive. Calpe has three, each with one star: Orobianco, Audrey’s and Beat, about a quarter of an hour away. In Jávea you will find BonAmb with two stars and Tula with one, about twenty minutes away. Furthest off are Quique Dacosta in Dénia with three stars, Peix & Brases in Dénia with one star and Casa Pepa in Ondara with one star; for those you drive a good half hour.

What Moraira itself has in the guide

Two addresses in Moraira are in the Michelin guide without a star: Carvón and Nazario Cano. That is no consolation prize. Being in the guide means the inspectors have been and selected the place; of the thousands of restaurants on this coast only a handful make that list. Volta i Volta in Jávea, which has its own page on this site, is in it too.

What to arrange in advance

Book well ahead, certainly in season and at the weekend. Expect set menus rather than a carte, and ask what they cost when you book; most of these places sit in the highest price bracket Michelin awards. Watch the closing days as well: several of these restaurants are shut on Monday and Tuesday, and some serve only in the evening.

A star says something about the kitchen, not about your evening

That sounds glib, but it saves disappointment. A starred menu often runs two to three hours, the portions are small and measured, and the room is quiet. If what you want after a day on the beach is a plate of pasta and a bottle of wine in shorts with a view of the harbour, one of the other pages on this site will serve you better. If you want one evening where the food itself is the outing, this is the place to look.

Which starred restaurant is closest to Moraira?

How many starred restaurants are there nearby?

In the 2026 guide the Marina Alta has nine: one in Benissa, three in Calpe, two in Jávea, two in Dénia and one in Ondara. Between them, three stars at Quique Dacosta, two at BonAmb and one at each of the other seven.

Do I need to book?

Yes, and well ahead. These are small places with limited service times, and several are closed on Monday and Tuesday.

What does a dinner like that cost?

It differs from place to place and from menu to menu, and most work with set menus only. Michelin puts the majority in the highest price bracket. Ask what the menu costs when you book, and you will not be caught out.

Can I drive there?

There, yes; back, not if you take a wine pairing. All these addresses are outside Moraira and are reachable only by car or taxi. Agree beforehand who drives, or order a taxi.

Where can you stay in Moraira, with these restaurants within driving distance?

Calamora is on the central roundabout of Moraira. The first restaurants and shops are about 50 metres away, the marina with its terraces some 250 metres and the sandy beach about 200 metres. So you do not need a car to go out to eat. The apartment and the penthouse each have two bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and access to the shared swimming pool with a children's pool. You book directly with the owner. See the accommodation.
