WiFi and internet

The apartment has wireless internet. The connection runs over fibre optic and is probably as fast as you are used to at home.

Use of the WiFi network in the apartment is free. You receive the user name and password with your confirmation.

WiFi in the village and on the beach

Around the beach near the centre and at a number of spots in the village — among them the castle, the Club Náutico, the church square and Playa El Portet — a free network from the local provider Closeness is available, under the name Closeness Free. You connect to that network, accept the terms and then enter an access code. You request that code from a Closeness shop in Moraira, Teulada or Benissa. According to a 2021 report, use by non-customers is limited to about an hour a day, so do not assume you can stay on it indefinitely.

We cannot confirm a public network from the municipality of Teulada-Moraira on the beach. The council announced one in 2013, with two hours of free internet a day, but no longer lists WiFi among the facilities at Playa de l’Ampolla. Whether the beach bar has its own guest WiFi we do not know; do ask on the spot.

Most bars and restaurants do have their own guest WiFi. It is worth asking for the login code while you are sitting there. Once you have entered a network with an ordinary password, your phone will usually sign in by itself on a later visit and save you mobile data. A network with a login page in the browser works differently: your phone does connect to the network, but you often have to agree again before there is really internet. Your phone then looks connected while apps cannot get through; switch WiFi off for a moment or open the login page again. Some of this also depends on your phone’s settings.
