Dinner in Moraira

Eating out in Moraira and around

You eat well in Moraira, and you do not have to drive far for it. In the village itself ten addresses lie within walking distance of each other, and within half an hour’s drive is one of the better restaurant areas of the Costa Blanca.

What time people eat here

The Spanish dine late. Many kitchens only open at 19:00 or 19:30 and the rush begins around nine. Come at seven and you will often still have the place to yourself, but you get the best table and the quickest service. The last order is usually taken around half past ten.

Booking

In July and August and at weekends you need to book, and at the popular addresses on weekdays too. Out of season you can often just walk in, but then some restaurants are closed. Each place’s page gives the telephone number and, where possible, a link to book online.

What it costs

A three-course dinner with wine costs roughly thirty-five to sixty euros a head in Moraira; at the more expensive addresses it is higher. At midday many places have a menú del día of about fifteen to twenty euros, and that is by far the best value. Card payment is accepted almost everywhere.

Where to find what

Around the church square and the Calle Doctor Calatayud the restaurants sit close together, so you can walk around first and then choose. At the marina you eat with a view of the boats. Inland towards Benissa and Teulada there are restaurants in old fincas, with more space and quiet.
