Beach clubs near Moraira

Beach clubs near Moraira

A beach club is a different thing from a beach shack. You hire a sunbed, there is service at the bed, often a pool and music, and the menu is broader. It is a day out rather than a lunch.

What it costs

A sunbed usually costs between ten and fifteen euros a day; a VIP bed or one with its own service runs up to thirty euros or more. Sometimes a minimum spend is asked instead of a hire charge. Each place’s page says which applies.

Booking

In season you really do need to book a sunbed, certainly at weekends. That is usually done by telephone or WhatsApp and sometimes online. Arrive on time: a reserved bed is not held indefinitely.

With children

Beach clubs with a pool are often easier with children than a beach: shallow water, supervision and a playground within reach, while you stay at your table or on your bed. See also eating out with children.

When it is quiet

Between eleven and four it is at its busiest. Come at ten and you get the best spot; come after four and it is quieter and the sun is softer. Outside high season some clubs are closed or open only at weekends.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a beach club and a chiringuito?

At a beach club you hire a sunbed and there is service, often a pool and music. A chiringuito is a simple beach shack with no sunbed hire, where you eat at a table.

What does a sunbed cost?

Usually between ten and fifteen euros a day; a VIP bed runs up to thirty euros or more. Some clubs ask a minimum spend instead.

Do I need to book in advance?

In season, yes, and at weekends certainly. Booking is usually by telephone or WhatsApp; each club’s page gives the number.

Are beach clubs suitable for children?

Some are, especially the clubs with a pool and a playground. There children can swim and play while you stay where you are.

What time is best to arrive?

Around ten, before it gets busy, or after four when it is quieter. Between eleven and four it is at its busiest.

Where can you stay in Moraira, with a pool of your own?

Calamora is on the central roundabout of Moraira. The first restaurants and shops are about 50 metres away, the marina with its terraces some 250 metres and the sandy beach about 200 metres. So you need no car to go out to eat. The apartment and the penthouse both have two bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and access to the shared swimming pool with its children’s pool.
