Vall de Cavall

Vall de Cavall – an unusual restaurant near Moraira

Vall de Cavall is a restaurant in the countryside near Gata de Gorgos, within the municipality of Dénia, looking out at the Montgó. The kitchen describes itself as Mediterranean haute cuisine with international influences. The grounds combine a restaurant, horses, a swimming pool and accommodation, which makes for a setting quite unlike the restaurants on the Moraira coast.

A restaurant among horses and greenery

Vall de Cavall was founded in 2006 by Peter and Ines. As the name suggests — cavall is Valencian for horse — horses have a part in the place. You eat here looking out at the greenery and at the Montgó, the mountain between Dénia and Jávea. For a long lunch on a sunny day or dinner on a summer evening it is a quiet spot, away from the bustle of the coast.

If you are fond of horses yourself, see also our page about horse riding around Moraira.

The kitchen and the menu

The kitchen is led by chef Hatim Khaled. The restaurant calls its style alta cocina mediterránea internacional: refined Mediterranean dishes with influences from beyond the region. The menu changes; the current version opens through the Menu button below this text. If you have dietary requirements, pass them on when you book.
