The Food Bar Moraira – a restaurant at the Cala de l’Andragó

The Food Bar is a restaurant with a sea view at the Cala de l’Andragó, along the coast road from Moraira to Calpe. It belongs to the Republic group and has an international menu, from oysters and sushi to a chateaubriand or a burger. Because the kitchen runs right through the afternoon and the evening, you can eat there at hours when many Spanish restaurants are closed.

Setting and the view

The restaurant sits above the l’Andragó cove, just outside the centre of Moraira. According to The Food Bar every table has a view over the cove; inside too you look out over the Mediterranean through floor-to-ceiling windows. The terrace is roomy and, in the evening, a good place to watch the sun go down. There is live music fairly often as well.

The kitchen and the menu

The menu is international with Mediterranean influences and is put together with produce from the land and sea of the region. It includes:

• fresh fish, lobster and oysters;
• sushi and sashimi;
• chateaubriand and other meat dishes;
• pasta, gourmet burgers and salads.

Opening hours and booking

According to its own website The Food Bar is open seven days a week all year. Times can change; check them before you go.

For a table at the edge of the terrace around sunset, booking is advisable, certainly in summer and at the weekend. The restaurant also puts on birthdays, company dinners and other events.

Address and the drive
