  • Celebrate the fiestas of Moraira like a local

The sun is just beginning to sink behind the Mediterranean, and the sky turns shades of pink and gold. As I walk along the promenade of Moraira, I catch the first sounds of the brass band echoing through the streets. It is the starting signal for a week of festivities that brings the coastal village to life.

The magic of the Moros y Cristianos

One of the most spectacular events in Moraira is without doubt the Moros y Cristianos celebration. This annual festival usually takes place in June and tells the story of the struggle between Moors and Christians. You can imagine how the streets fill with parades full of colourful costumes, and music that makes even the stones under your feet tremble with excitement. The whole village comes together for this unique week of history and culture. 📍 See Moraira on Google Maps.

The Sant Jaume festival

Another celebration you should not miss is the Sant Jaume festival, one of the most popular public holidays in Moraira. During the last week of July this event brings traditional theatre to the streets, together with firework displays that light up the sky. On these days you can visit local markets where craftspeople offer their own products. It is the perfect place to take a local souvenir home.

Costa Blanca fiestas that stay with you

The festivals are not only unique cultural events in Moraira, they also let you experience the true spirit of the Costa Blanca. Take the Noche de San Juan on 23 June. That evening is celebrated with bonfires on the beach, so you can literally feel the warmth of the tradition. It is an experience you will not forget quickly.

On market days, held every Friday in the centre, you can buy local produce and have a chat with the friendly residents. The heart of the festivities is within walking distance of both the free car park opposite the Calamora apartments and the beach, which makes the experience complete.

A perfect base

The Calamora apartments are the ideal base for enjoying all these festivities. Enjoy free WiFi, a Sonos sound system to unwind with, and flexible arrival and departure times. The nearness of the local events and the free parking make your stay all the more pleasant.

Let these festivals become part of your summer memories in Moraira. Book your stay at Calamora and immerse yourself in the local culture and traditions.
