Enigma Cocina con Alma is a restaurant in the old centre (casco antiguo) of Calpe, open since 2023. The kitchen calls itself Mediterranean cocina de autor: Atlantic and Mediterranean traditions worked with modern technique and seasonal produce. From Moraira it makes a good end to a day in Calpe.
In the old heart of Calpe
The restaurant sits among the narrow streets of the historic heart of Calpe, some way from the promenade and the harbour. In the evening the old town is quieter than the coast and easy to explore on foot; it is best to park at the edge of the centre and walk the last stretch. The kitchen and the menu
The menu is Mediterranean with an interpretation of its own, with a great deal of attention to fish and seafood. Dishes on the menu in 2026 included octopus (pulpo) in several preparations, beef carpaccio, burrata with tomato of the season, Iberian presa, grilled sea bass and risotto with truffle. The menu changes with the season, so take these as an indication.

In the evening Enigma makes most sense as the end of a day in Calpe: the Peñón de Ifach, the promenade or the salt flats during the day, and then dinner in the old town. From Wednesday to Saturday you can have lunch there as well. Allow for the driving time on the way back to Moraira; if you want wine, arrange a taxi in advance.
