Amantes de Moraira is a restaurant on the coast road from Moraira to Calpe, with a large terrace by the sea. The kitchen is Spanish-Mediterranean, with rice dishes and fresh fish at its heart and a long wine and champagne list. You can go for lunch as well as dinner.
Setting and terrace
The restaurant is on the road out of Moraira towards Calpe, right on the coast. Besides the indoor room with its view of the sea there is a roomy terrace at the water and a lounge area for a cocktail. That setting makes Amantes above all a summer place for a long lunch or a dinner around sunset. Also on the same coast road are Algas at the Cala de l’Andragó and restaurant Kosta.
The kitchen and the menu
The menu turns on what the coast produces: rice dishes, fish landed the same day in the bay and shellfish such as red prawn from Dénia and langoustines. You can book through the form on the website; a request only becomes firm once it is confirmed by e-mail or telephone. The restaurant asks for online requests at least 12 hours in advance. If you want a table at short notice, call or send a message on WhatsApp. For a terrace table by the sea in July and August it is wise to book well ahead.
Practical tips
Amantes lies outside the village centre, so reckon on transport there and back. If you want to sit on the terrace at sunset, ask for a table outside when you book; on cooler evenings outside the high season the indoor room with its sea view is an alternative. For a more informal afternoon by the water, Algas at the Cala de l’Andragó is close by.
