Eating out around Moraira
Eating out around Moraira

Within half an hour’s drive of Moraira lies one of the better eating areas of the Costa Blanca. Jávea has the widest choice, Benissa and Teulada have the quiet addresses inland, and Calpe has the gastrobars.
Driving times from Moraira
Teulada is about ten minutes away, Benissa and Calpe a quarter of an hour, and Jávea twenty to twenty-five minutes. The roads are good but winding; in July and August allow a little more time, especially around Calpe.
Parking
In the old centres of Benissa and Jávea parking is difficult. Leave the car on the edge and walk the last stretch; that is often quicker than searching. In Calpe there are paid car parks by the promenade.
Who is driving
In Spain the limit is 0.5 grams of alcohol per litre of blood, and 0.3 for anyone who has held a licence for less than two years. It is strictly enforced, on weekday evenings too. So agree beforehand who is driving, or take a taxi.
Booking matters more here
Unlike in Moraira itself, you cannot simply try next door if a place is full: the next restaurant is not around the corner. So ring ahead, certainly for the restaurants inland, which are often small and closed one or two days a week.

The best restaurants and terraces of Moraira are 50 metres from Calamora. After a good dinner you walk back to your comfortable apartment with its terrace, garden and swimming pool – 200 metres from the beach and 250 metres from the harbour.
