When to go, and practical tips
The jet ski season in Moraira is the summer; in July and August, book a few days ahead and choose a trip in the morning if you can, when the sea is usually flattest. The same goes for water skiing and wakeboarding: flat water makes the first attempts a good deal easier.
- Wear sunglasses on a cord and put plenty of cream on: you burn faster out on the water.
- Ask beforehand what happens in strong wind or waves; a trip can then be moved.
- Do not take valuables with you on the jet ski.
The departure point for many water sports activities is the marina of Moraira, within walking distance of the centre.

Water skiing and wakeboarding are offered by specialist water sports businesses operating from the marina or the beach. They tow you behind a motorboat along the calm bay. Book ahead in high season – slots fill up quickly.
Is water skiing suitable for beginners?
Yes. Most providers give a short briefing for beginners. Expect your first attempt to take some practice, but with a good instructor you will be up on your skis before long. Wakeboards are a little easier to balance on than two separate skis.
What does jet skiing cost in Moraira?
Prices vary by provider, but reckon on ± €60–90 for half an hour on a jet ski. Water skiing and wakeboarding usually cost ± €30–50 a session. Prices can be higher in high season. Always check on the spot which rates apply.
Are there age limits for jet skiing near Moraira?
Yes. In Spain a jet ski rider must be at least 18, or 16 with written permission from a parent or guardian. Younger people can ride along as a passenger with an adult rider. Read the Spanish maritime safety rules before you set out, or ask the hire company about the specific rules.
Is the sea at Moraira suitable for water skiing?
Yes. The bays near Moraira are relatively sheltered and have few waves in fine weather, which makes water skiing and wakeboarding quite possible. At wind force 3 or more it becomes harder; providers judge daily whether conditions are safe.
