Cala Llebeig is a small shingle cove below the cliffs between Moraira and Cala del Moraig, within the municipality of Benitatxell. No road reaches it: you get there on foot or by sea. There are no facilities, no beach bar and no lifeguard. What you do find: clear water, quiet, and a row of old fishermen\u2019s huts built against the rocks.<\/p>\n
Those huts are shelters from the late nineteenth and early twentieth century, built in dry stone against and into the cliff face. They belong to the fishing heritage of this coast. Along the cliff path towards Cala del Moraig you will see more such caves, each with a name of its own.<\/p>\n

At the end of the road through the Cumbre del Sol estate there is a small car park for about ten cars, with a little extra space along the road. The path starts with a concrete stair and then turns to earth and rock. It is short, but in places you will need to hold on to the rocks. On the way back you climb all of it again. Follow the white and green markings of the SL-CV 50.<\/p>\n Cala Llebeig car park<\/strong> The finest option runs from Cala del Moraig<\/a> northwards halfway up the cliffs, past fishermen\u2019s caves cut out of the rock and the Morro del Bou viewpoint. The path is not technical, but it lies mostly in the sun. Note: from about 1 April to mid-October the car park at Cala del Moraig is paid between 9:00 and 19:00 and must be booked in advance through calamoraig.es. In July and August a shuttle bus runs.<\/p>\n By way of the Barranc de la Viuda ravine the SL-CV 50 joins the Moraira side. This variant is clearly harder, with a good deal of climbing and descending, and suits experienced walkers only.<\/p>\n Early in the morning the path is still cool and the cove at its quietest. Outside July and August you will often have the cala almost to yourself. In a strong easterly the sea here can be rough.
