Sailing in Moraira starts at the marina of the Club N\u00e1utico, a few minutes\u2019 walk from the centre. There you will find a sailing school, sailing lessons on a cabin yacht, hire and skippered trips. For a catamaran excursion with a larger group you set out from the harbours of Calpe or J\u00e1vea; sailing a small catamaran yourself is possible at a water sports centre near Les Bassetes.<\/p>\n

The club\u2019s sailing school, named after the local sailor Juan Moreno, is mainly active in summer, and besides that at Easter and on some weekends. There are introductory and follow-up courses in dinghies and catamarans.<\/p>\n

Charter Moraira<\/h3>\n

If you want to learn to sail on a bigger boat, Charter Moraira is the place. The lessons last two hours and are given on a Beneteau First 27.7, with theory and practice: manoeuvring in the harbour, changing course, sail trim and anchoring, with a break in the bay of El Portet. According to the website a single lesson costs \u20ac 60 a person with a maximum of four participants; there are also packages of five or ten lessons. A catamaran excursion from Calpe or J\u00e1vea<\/h3>\n

Mundo Marino sails catamarans from the harbours of Calpe and J\u00e1vea. From Calpe there are trips along the Pe\u00f1\u00f3n de Ifach, swimming excursions and sunset trips, among others; prices start, according to the website, at around \u20ac 10 to \u20ac 20 a person, depending on the trip. Calpe is \u00b1 25 minutes away by car; a catamaran trip combines well with a day trip to Calpe and the Pe\u00f1\u00f3n de Ifach<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This water sports centre, founded in 1978 and an official Hobie Cat Center, gives lessons on small catamarans in a sheltered bay. There are windsurfing, kayak and SUP lessons too.<\/p>\n

Book ahead in July and August, certainly for skippered trips. A trip can be moved in strong wind; ask when booking what the arrangement is then.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Staying at Calamora in Moraira<\/h2>\n

From the harbour of Moraira \u2013 250 metres from Calamora<\/strong> \u2013 you head straight out to sea. After a fine day sailing you come back to your apartment with its terrace, garden and swimming pool.<\/p>\n
