2. Climbing to the Torre del Cap d\u2019Or<\/h2>\n
The sixteenth-century watchtower at the highest point of the Cap d\u2019Or was built to guard the coast against pirates. The marked route SL-CV 51 runs from Moraira up to the tower; allow about an hour of walking. At the top you look out over the bay of Moraira. Route and tips: the climb to the Torre de Vig\u00eda<\/a>.<\/p>\n The castle of Moraira was built around 1742 to defend against Barbary pirates and stands on a rocky point above l\u2019Ampolla. It is one of the village\u2019s defining sights.
